"The Rebirth" Project

The Rebirth is an independent initiative by Jo Blankenburg, Maya Haddi, Andy Fox and Nitish Raina to help the victims of the ongoing crisis in Syria.  All proceeds will be donated to the International Committee of the Red Cross for Syria.  The song was composed by Jo Blankenburg, featuring Maya Haddi’s voice. The composer drew inspiration from  Andy Fox ‘s photographs of Syria and Nitish Raina’s poetry.

"Elysium" Wins Best Album 2012

Jo Blankenburg’s latest album,  Elysium , has been awarded the “Best Album of the Year 2012” by Reviews New Age.  Other nominees included “Illusions” by Thomas Bergersen, “The Piano” by Chad Lawson, “The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings OST” and many other wonderful albums.  Special thanks to Alejandro Clavijo, owner of Reviews New Age, for organizing the contest and also for all the wonderful work he’s been doing for the music community.

A big thank you to Capellen Orchestra & Choir and Petr and Petra Pololanik for conducting three unforgettable days of recording Czech Republic’s finest musicians.  For this album Jo recorded an all-star ensemble of 14 brass players and a record-breaking 52-piece string section with 6 concertmasters in the first violins and three first chairs in all the other sections. Jo’s dear friend and amazing vocalist Felicia Farrere also performed besides boy vocalist Dominik Brychta. "The Human Experience" Soundtrack

The soundtrack to the multi-award winning documentary “The Human Experience”  has been released on iTunes. A wonderful film and beautiful soundtrack that will hopefully inspire many people out there. A proud moment for Jo of being given the opportunity to contribute a piece of music which is called “Below The Surface”. Music For "World Of Wearable Art"

Jo wrote the signature theme music for New Zealand’s internationally renowned and prestigious show event ” WOW – World of Wearable Art”. The music was recorded in Rudolfinum’s Dvorak Hall which is one of Europe’s oldest concert halls.
